Lekan Osifeso Jr., known professionally as Lojay, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer born on April 28, 1996, in Lagos, Nigeria. He began making music professionally in 2016 while still an undergraduate, and after completing his degree turned his full attention to a musical career. His breakthrough came with the Sarz-produced single "Monalisa", whose remix featuring Chris Brown peaked at number 8 on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart. Lojay's sound is a seamless fusion of Afrobeats rhythms with R&B and contemporary pop, characterized by silky vocals, layered production, and emotionally resonant lyrics exploring love and heartbreak. As one of the rising stars of the Afrofusion movement, he has helped push Nigerian music further into the global mainstream, drawing comparisons to peers like Wizkid and Burna Boy while maintaining a distinctly intimate and melodic approach to songwriting.
