Jim Legxacy, born James Folorunso Ifeanyi Olaloye on June 8, 2000, is a British rapper, producer, singer, and creative director of Nigerian descent raised in the London Borough of Lewisham. Before pursuing music, he attended art school with ambitions of becoming a graphic designer, but his path changed after hearing Kanye West's The Life of Pablo in 2016. He released his first tape, Dynasty Program, in 2019 and quickly developed a reputation for blending rap, lo-fi, emo, Afrobeat, and eclectic samples into a distinctive sonic palette. His 2023 album Homeless N**ga Pop Music brought wider recognition, though the period was marked by personal hardship -- he was homeless and living on friends' couches during its creation, and his younger sister passed away shortly after its release. His subsequent project Black British Music, featuring the viral single "Father," cemented his status as one of the UK's most exciting emerging artists. NPR and Rolling Stone have both profiled him as a genre-fusing force cracking open the boundaries of UK rap.
