The Neighbourhood (often stylized as The NBHD) is an American rock band formed in Newbury Park, California, in 2011. The group consists of vocalist Jesse Rutherford, guitarists Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels, bassist Mikey Margott, and drummer Brandon Fried. They broke through with their debut album I Love You. in 2013, released via Columbia Records. Known for their moody, atmospheric sound that blends alternative rock with R&B and dark pop sensibilities, The Neighbourhood quickly built a devoted following with hits like "Sweater Weather," which topped the Billboard US Alternative chart. Their black-and-white visual aesthetic and genre-blurring approach have made them a defining act of 2010s alternative music.
