Nine Pound Hammer

Nine Pound Hammer is an American cowpunk and alternative country band from Kentucky, formed in 1985. Founded by vocalist and guitarist Blaine Cartwright, the band became known for their high-energy blend of punk rock attitude with country, rockabilly, and southern rock influences. Their raw, whiskey-soaked sound and raucous live performances made them fixtures of the alternative country scene. The band released several albums including their debut "Hayseed Timebomb" and "The Mud, The Blood & The Beers." Nine Pound Hammer toured extensively throughout the American underground music circuit and earned a cult following for their uncompromising approach to roots rock. Cartwright later went on to form Nashville Pussy, which achieved greater commercial success. The band remains influential in the cowpunk and alt-country genres.
