Dr. Feelgood was a British rock band formed in 1971 in Canvey Island, Essex, England. They were pioneers of the pub rock movement, playing a raw, energetic style of rhythm and blues that emphasized a back-to-basics approach. Their sound was characterized by Lee Brilleaux's gritty vocals and Wilko Johnson's distinctive choppy guitar style, which influenced the punk and new wave movements that followed. The band achieved commercial success with their 1976 live album "Stupidity," which reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. Other notable releases include "Down by the Jetty" (1975) and "Malpractice" (1975). Despite lineup changes over the years, including Wilko Johnson's departure in 1977, Dr. Feelgood maintained an extensive touring schedule and became known as one of the hardest-working bands in British rock. They remained active for over four decades, building a loyal following and leaving a lasting impact on British rock music.
