Bad Gyal, born Alba Farelo i Solé on March 7, 1997, in Vilassar de Mar, Barcelona, Spain, is a singer, songwriter, DJ, and model who’s become a leading figure in Spanish urban music. She blends reggaeton, dancehall, trap, hip-hop, and R&B, known for her heavy use of autotune, lyrics championing sexual freedom and female empowerment, and a bold, urban aesthetic. Bad Gyal burst onto the scene in 2016 with "Pai", a Catalan cover of Rihanna’s "Work," produced with Fake Guido, which racked up millions of YouTube views. That same year, she dropped her debut mixtape, Slow Wine Mixtape, featuring tracks like "Fiebre" and "Mercadona", mixing dancehall and reggaeton. In 2018, her second mixtape, Worldwide Angel, with songs like "Internationally" and "Candela", cemented her global presence.In 2019, she signed with Interscope Records and Aftercluv, hitting the mainstream with singles like "Santa María", "Zorra", and "Alocao" (with Omar Montes), the latter topping charts in Spain. She released the EPs Warm Up and Sound System: The Final Releases in 2021. In 2024, her debut album, La Joia, dropped, featuring collabs with artists like Quevedo, Anitta, Myke Towers, and Tokischa. Hits include "Chulo pt.2", "Bota Niña", and "Perdió este culo", accompanied by a documentary on Amazon Prime Video about its creation. Daughter of actor and voice actor Eduard Farelo, Alba is the eldest of five siblings, including Mushkaa (Irma), also a singer.
